Showcase Your Bookcase with #ShelfieSunday

Banned and Challenged Books, General Interest

With Banned Books Week one week away, the Office for Intellectual Freedom wants to see your banned book bookshelf!

This Sunday, Sept. 18, OIF will host a banned book-themed #ShelfieSunday. On Sunday, readers are invited to take snapshots of banned and challenged books on their bookshelves, and share it on social media. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Post the photo on the Office for Intellectual Freedom’s Facebook page, or attach it as a comment to an OIF Facebook status.
  • Tweet the photo with the hashtags #ShelfieSunday and #BannedBooksWeek.
  • Email the photo to oif@ala.org.

Ignite a conversation by including the reasons why your books were challenged, or sharing how your bookshelf benefits from diverse, unrestricted ideas. Creative photos will be featured on OIF social media platforms, and in an OIF blog post.

How will you showcase your shelf?
