Office for Intellectual Freedom Sends Letter to the Board of the Oxford Area School District

On August 22, the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) sent a letter to the superintendent and board of the Oxford Area School District opposing efforts to censor library materials and urging them to follow their policies as written.

OIF’s letter affirmed the strong policies the district has in place and stated the importance of abiding by them to ensure that matters are handled equitably and objectively and so that the board does not engage in viewpoint-based discrimination.
