Office for Intellectual Freedom Issues Letter to the Board of Greenville County Library System

On March 27, the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) sent a letter to the Greenville County Library System’s Board of Trustees opposing recent restrictions they imposed on LGBTQIA+ programming and displays, and on access to books with LGBTQIA+ characters or authors.

OIF’s letter criticized the discriminatory actions of the board while also recognizing the dedicated efforts of library staff to support and represent all members of the community in an inclusive and welcoming manner.
